First Test: Pakistan needs 302 runs to win, New Zealand needs 7 wickets.

 On the fourth day of the first Test between Pakistan and New Zealand, the national team scored 71 for 3 in their second innings and needed 302 more runs to win the match. When play began on the fourth day of the first Test at Mount Manganui, New Zealand started their second innings responsibly.


 Openers Tom Latham and Tom Blind Dale put on an 111-run opening partnership and were bowled out for 64 in the 33rd over, followed by opener Tom Latham who returned with 53 runs. After the opening partnership, the New Zealand team could not form a big partnership and Kane Williamson was dismissed for 21 runs at 147. After which Ross Taylor and Henry Nichols had scored 165 for the team when Nicholas fell victim to Naseem Shah's ball. 

 Immediately after that, with the addition of only 5 runs in the total score, the fifth wicket of the Kiwi team also fell to 170 runs. Tom Blundell top-scored for the Kiwis with 64 in the second innings, followed by Tom Latham with 53. In the second innings for Pakistan, Naseem Shah took three wickets while Muhammad Abbas took one wicket and got one run out. 

Thus, Pakistan got a target of 373 runs to win, for which when the national team started batting, there were difficulties in the beginning. Pakistani openers Shaun Masood and Abid Ali were dismissed without scoring a run and the national team lost 2 wickets at zero.

 The next players after him, Azhar Ali and Haris Sohail, scored, but on a total score of 37, Haris Ali returned to the pavilion with only 9 runs. By the end of the fourth day, when the game was over, the national team had scored 71 runs with three wickets in hand and needed 302 more runs to win the match. Azhar Ali (34) and Fawad Alam (21) are not out for the national team. 

 In the second innings for the Kiwis, Tim Southee took 2 wickets and completed his 300 Test wickets. It may be recalled that New Zealand scored 431 runs in the first innings in response to which Pakistan managed to score 239 runs in their first innings thanks to 91 runs by Faheem Ashraf and 71 runs by Mohammad Rizwan. In the second innings, New Zealand declared the innings at 180 and gave Pakistan a target of 373 runs to win.
